Event Planning
I am happy to travel to speak and read! I've spoken at many universities and at K-12 schools as well as at community groups, reading groups, and discussed my work at a senior center and a prison. I've given community education talks on writing process, and done signings and readings at book festivals. I'm also happy to Skype with book groups and chronic pain groups.

Join us for a conversation with Sonya Huber, author of The Evolution of Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Lucy Gellman, reporter for the New Haven Independent as we discuss the candidates and conventions of this historic election cycle. Lucy Gellman is a reporter for the New Haven Independent and station manager and host at WNHH Radio. She has covered the 2016 primaries in New Hampshire and Connecticut, as well as the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Her writing and photography has appeared in Print Quarterly, The London Student, The Arts Paper, Yale University Art Gallery Bulletin, the Connecticut Mirror and I Love New Haven, where she is a weekly contributor.

Past Events
University Visits and Reading Series: I've served as a speaker at the New Directions in Writing and Publishing Conference at North Georgia College & State University, where Opa Nobody was chosen as a First-Year Read. I've also been featured in as a reader at the College of the Holy Cross Reading Series and the University of New Hampshire Reading Series, the River Styx Reading Series in St. Louis, and the Motherhood and Words Festival at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis.
Bookstores & Literary Festivals: I've read at excellent bookstores, schools, and literary centers all over the country, including the Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn, Bluestockings Books in New York City, Broad Vocabulary in Milwaukee, Charis Books in Atlanta, Women and Children First Bookstore in Chicago, and many more. I've participated in workshops and panels at the Dahlonega Literary Festival, the Jacksonville Literary Festival, the Connecticut Literary Festival, and the Decatur Book Festival.
Library & Community Visits & Events: I've read at libraries in New Lenox, Illinois and Statesboro, GA and many others, and to many congregations and community organizations. I've conducted workshops on memoir at the Pequot Library in Fairfield (CT), the Darien (CT) Public Library, the Groton (CT) Public Library, the Haddam (CT) Public Library and the Statesboro Public Library (GA). In May 2015 I gave a workshop at the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association annual CAPA-U conference. I've given webinars for students at Global Academy and for members of the U.S. Pain Foundation.
